Will Power ties IndyCar pole record at St. Louis

Will Power won his record-tying 67th career pole position Friday evening at qualifying for the Bommarito 500 at World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, Illinois.

Power tied the record with two laps averaging 182.727 mph around the 1.25 mile oval outside St. Louis.

Marcus Ericsson was the highest qualifying Honda with a 182.070 average, and will start second.

Josef Newgarden, defending race winner at WWTR, will start third, and Team Penske teammate Scott McLaughlin will start fourth.
