Three-time W Series champion Jamie Chadwick will contest the full Indy NXT season for Andretti Autosport in 2023, according to a press release from the team Thursday. Chadwick's No. 28 car will feature primary sponsorship from DHL, a longtime Andretti sponsor.

Chadwick will become the first woman to contest a full-time Indy NXT (formerly Indy Lights) entry in 13 years.

“I’m hugely excited to be joining Andretti Autosport for the 2023 INDY NXT season with DHL," Chadwick said in a statement. "My aim is always to challenge myself and continue my progression as a driver and this represents not only a big step up but also a big step towards my goal of competing in the highest categories of single seater racing.”

The British driver dominated the W Series in her three years as a driver, winning three championships, 11 races, 18 podiums and 10 poles. She will also continue in her role in the Williams Racing Driver Academy, where she served as a development driver for the Formula One team in 2022.

“Andretti Autosport is proud to be supporting Jamie alongside DHL for the 2023 INDY NXT season," Andretti Autosport CEO and Chairman Michael Andretti said in a statement. "Jamie’s successful career speaks for itself, but the INDY NXT series gives Jamie the opportunity to continue her development in a new type of racing... We’ve turned out five INDY NXT champions over the years and look forward to continuing our role in developing new talent.”
