Tony Kanaan, 2013 Indianapolis 500 champion, will drive for Arrow McLaren SP in the 2023 Indy 500. With Kanaan's confirmation, 33 entries are confirmed or known for the Greatest Spectacle in Racing next year.

A beloved fan-favorite, Kanaan, 47, has competed part-time in the series since 2019. Last year, he finished third in the 500 driving for Chip Ganassi Racing.

Also announced Tuesday, NTT Data will move to Arrow McLaren SP as a sponsor for 2023, joining the No. 6 car of Felix Rosenqvist and Kanaan's 500 entry.

“I’m thrilled they will be representing our No. 6 car as a lead partner and a major sponsor for our fourth entry in the Indy 500, piloted by Tony Kanaan," McLaren CEO Zak Brown said in a press release. "Tony proved last year he can compete with the best of them, and I’m excited to see him put on a show with our team next May."

The fourth McLaren car announced for the 500, the announcement brings the expected Indianapolis 500 field to at least 33 entries as of Tuesday.

Reporting by Racer's Marshall Pruett indicates the return of Dreyer & Reinbold Racing's two entries and an Ed Carpenter Racing entry for the owner himself to bring the field projection to 33. Possible entries at A.J. Foyt Racing, Chip Ganassi Racing and or Dale Coyne Racing would push the field above 33 entries, bringing back Bump Day.
